Free Server Commands

Available commands for CS2 Free servers.

Limited Features

Free servers have restricted functionality compared to Pro servers. Advanced features like pause commands, tech timeouts, and custom practice utilities are not available.

Where to Type These Commands

CS2 servers accept two kinds of commands, and mixing them up is the most common reason a command seems to be ignored.

TypeLooks likeWhere to type it
Chat command!map dust2, /map dust2, .map dust2In-game chat (Y or U)
Console commandfake_rcon statusDeveloper console (`)

Chat commands accept /, ! and . interchangeably, so !ready, /ready and .ready all do the same thing. Pick whichever you prefer; this documentation uses whatever each plugin's own docs use.

The developer console is off in a fresh CS2 install. Turn it on under SettingsGameEnable Developer Console (~). See the RCON guide for the full setup.

You do not need admin rights or a password for the commands on this page. Any player on a Free server can use them.

Limitations on Free Servers

Free servers do not support:

  • Advanced admin commands
  • Pause and unpause during matches
  • Tech timeout functionality
  • Custom practice utilities (grenades, bots, spawns)
  • Workshop map loading
  • Advanced match management
  • CSTV recording
  • Custom plugins

Upgrade for More Features

For full functionality including all practice commands, match management, and plugin support, consider upgrading to a Pro Server.

Command Prefixes and Aliases

The /, ! and . prefixes are interchangeable. /comp, !comp and .comp all do the same thing, so use whichever you prefer. This page writes them with /.

That is separate from an alias, which is a second name for the same command. Only one exists on Free servers:

CommandAlias
/dm!deathmatch

No other command has an alternative name. If a command is not listed on this page, it is not available on Free servers.
