Need to move your server to a different region or machine? We can help with that.

What is a Server Move?

A server move involves transferring your entire server setup to:

• Different Region - Move to a location closer to your players
• Different Machine - Transfer to another server in the same region

All your files, configurations, and settings are moved for you.

How Server Moves Work

The Process

1. Contact Support - Request a server move via Pro Support
2. Choose Location - Select your new region (see Server Locations)
3. We Handle It - Our team moves all your files and configuration
4. New Ports Assigned - Your server will receive new port numbers
5. Ready to Go - Move typically completes in around 10 minutes

TIP

Your server will be offline during the move process. Plan accordingly!

What Gets Moved

Everything is transferred:

• All server files
• Configuration files
• Custom maps and mods
• Plugins and addons
• World/save files
• Server settings

What Changes

After the move:

• New IP Address - Your server will have a new IP
• New Ports - Game port, query port, and other ports will change
• New Connection Details - Share updated info with your players

Update Your Players

Make sure to notify your players of the new connection details after the move!

Move Limitations

Annual Limit

Server moves are limited to 2-3 moves per year per server.

This ensures:

• Fair resource allocation
• Stable server performance
• Reduced administrative overhead

When Moves Are Needed

Common reasons for server moves:

• High Latency - Moving closer to player base
• Performance Issues - Transferring to different hardware
• Player Location Changed - Community relocated
• Regional Events - Temporary location change for tournaments

Requesting a Move

Before You Request

Consider:

1. Check Current Performance - Is a move really necessary?
2. Test Ping - Use our Ping Test to compare regions
3. Player Locations - Where are most of your players?
4. Move Count - How many moves have you used this year?

How to Request

1. Visit Pro Support
2. Select "Server Move Request"
3. Provide:
   • Current server details
   • Desired region/location
   • Preferred move time (if specific)
   • Reason for move (optional)

Response Time

• Request Review - Usually within a few hours
• Move Scheduling - Coordinated with you
• Move Duration - Approximately 10 minutes
• Verification - We'll confirm when complete

After the Move

Update Connection Info

1. Check your Server List for new details
2. Note the new IP address
3. Note the new port numbers
4. Update any external services (Discord bots, websites, etc.)

Notify Players

Share updated connection details:

New Server Address: 12.345.67.89:30150

Please update your favorites!

Verify Everything Works

After the move:

• Start your server
• Test connectivity
• Verify all files are present
• Check plugins/mods load correctly
• Confirm settings are intact

Troubleshooting Moves

Server Won't Start After Move

If issues occur post-move:

1. Check console for errors
2. Verify file permissions
3. Review any game-specific requirements
4. Contact support if problems persist

Missing Files

If files appear missing:

1. Check FTP access to confirm
2. Review correct directory paths
3. Contact support immediately
4. We keep backups of move operations

Performance Issues Continue

If moving didn't resolve issues:

• May not be location-related
• Contact support for diagnosis
• Consider server configuration changes
